In 2008 the DWFF - Dutch Women Fly Fishers was born, the first Women Fly Fishing club in the Netherlands..
Did you know that fly fishing is not only a guy thing ? That us women discovered that it is a terrific "people" activity.
We are a group of women that are looking to promote flyfishing, casting and fly tying under females.
We are offering you the opportunity to get into all three elements of this beautiful sport.
And while doing so we are having lot's of fun, in the great outdoors or inside at the tying bench. Or maybe
while listening to a presentation on entomology ( knowledge of insect life ) in, on or by the water side.
Fly fishing is becoming increasingly popular, also amongst women of all ages.
One person will call it a hobby, the other sees it as a competition sport. Some will catch fish merely as
food on the table and others practice "catch & release" while fishing with barbless hooks.
We are a enthousiastic new fly fishing club and meet each other once a month on Sundays.
Currently our home base is the beautiful trout reservoir the "Bernisse" with it's fantastic lodge, just
below Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
During our meetings all elements of fly fishing are covered and we are lucky to have a very professional instructor
to guide and help us.
Casting and tying can also be a reason to join DWFF. Casting can be seen as a sport in itself.
It's a fantastic feeling to be able to cast a line, through diverse techniques in the exact spot you aimed for.
Fly tying is a challenge that is very satisfying when you are able to hook a fish on your own creation.
Or if you don't want to fish you can focus on tying beautiful patterns just for the heck of it.
We are in contact with the IWFF ( International Women Fly Fishers ) and have the possibility
to make flyfishing trips abroad with them.
We will also support "Casting for Recovery" , a great initiative to support the process of recovery after breastcancer.

Flyfishing is being active outdoors, participating in the game of sun, wind, clouds and water, together with the fish.
Flyfishing is dreaming while highly concentrated. The anticipation of catching that great fish, but at the same time
enjoying the peace and gorgeous surroundings.
Flyfishing is meditating, being in the here and now completely.
Flyfishing gives a sense of freedom. The freedom to let go all the daily worries for a few hours.
Flyfishing is a passion, a passion that we would like to share with.... you !
