World Championships Fly Fishing ( FIPS-Mouche ) Poland, 2010

In 2010 the World Championships Fly Fishing will be held in Poland. Each year the championships are held in a FIPS-Mouche member country.

What is FIPS-Mouche?

FIPS-Mouche is the abbreviation for Fédération Internationale de Peche Sportive Mouche, or in English the International Sport Flyfishing Federation. It is the flyfishing arm of CIPS, the World regulating body for competitive fishing in all disciplines. FIPS-Mouche was founded on April 23, 1989 in San Marino, as part of CIPS, was founded in Rome in 1952 and now consists of four International Sport Federations. FIPS-Mouche shall aim to encourage the practice of sport fly fishing throughout the world and shall do so in collaboration with all CIPS members. In order to achieve this purpose, the Federation shall also collaborate with National Organisations, which are not members of CIPS. FIPS-Mouche shall also aim, within the Olympic ideal, to foster friendship and understanding among all people, and peace in the world, through sport. In pursuing these goals FIPS-Mouche shall maintain friendly relationship with all other world organisations sharing this ideal and collaborate with them. Its members are the National Competitive Flyfishing Bodies of countries from around the World

International Fly Fishing Fair Stockholm, Sweden, March 11th - 14th 2010

Last year's mutual arrangement with Wildernessfair at The Stockholm International Fairs in Älvsjö was a great success
and the total number of visitors was 20.200, 5.000 of these visitors came just to see the fly fishing fair.
Now we are preparing for the next fair which will be held between the 11th and 14th of Mars 2010. This time the
Swedish Fly Fishing Fair will have its own, even stronger image in Hall A, their own specially customised area for all sorts of fly fishing equipment and activities to go with it - fishing courses, seminars, movies and slide shows,
conferences, fly binding, competitions in a stimulating and active wilderness environment.

Pike Fly Fishing tournament Kvarken Finland, May 2010

For the first time ever an International Pike Fly Fishing tournament will be held in Finland.
This tournament starts on May 10th 2010 and will end on the 13th of May.

Participating countries will be :

- Finland
- Sweden
- USA
- England
- Ireland
- Scotland
- The Netherlands

The tournament is strictly based on Catch and Release and will be held in the Kvarken archipel.

The Dutch Fly Fair, May 29th and 30th in Dronten, The Netherlands

For the first time the traditional Dutch FlyFair will be held on a new location. In 2010 it will be held in "De Oase", located next to the Drontermeer between the cities of Kampen and Elburg. The theme of this years fair will be The World of Flyfishing. The fair will have an international character and will be structured as a "tent camp" fair.
